The night call schedule for PL-1's at Bridgeport Hospital is mainly every fourth night and slightly less frequent for PL-2's and PL-3's. There are 4 on-call slots each night, 2 covering the nursery, delivery room and the Newborn ICU, and 2 covering the inpatient unit. One of the newborn slots is largely covered by a physician assistant who works cooperatively with a second or third year pediatric resident.
