Each resident is required to participate in at least one research project during the residency program. A facility coordinator should be identified in the first year and a proposal developed along with a review of the pertinent literature. The resident will be expected to finalize the project by the beginning of the 4th year and to present the findings at the annual Science Symposium and/or special Grand Rounds of the department.
Additional clinical research is encouraged and the hope is that all residents will have published in a peer review journal before graduation.
