Photocopying and Printing Policy:
A self service photocopier is located in the Library and is available for academic purposes only. Copies are free of charge to hospital staff. All copying activities are governed by Section 107 of U.S. Copyright Code.
- Hospital staff may make a single copy of any materials needed for patient care, scholarly research, teaching, or lecture preparation, such as:
- An article from a periodical (you may not copy the whole periodical);
- A chapter from a book;
- A chart, diagram, graph, drawing, or picture form a book or periodical;
- The following materials may not be photocopied.
- Confidential materials such as patient records, drug orders, procedural orders or notes (Please consult HIPPA guidelines for a complete explanation)
- Entire books
- Entire issues of journals
- Syllabi, assignments and class notes (Please see your instructors for additional copies of material handed out in class)
If an equipment problem occurs, please notify staff in the library office. Please do not try to fix the problem yourself as there are hot and/or moving parts inside which pose risk of injury to the user if they are mishandled. We encourage users to make sure that copy settings met their needs before they begin work.
Printing:
Hospital staff is allowed to print online materials free-of-charge in the Health Sciences Library. All printing is subject to the above criteria for Photocopying.
