Fellows will have ample opportunity to perform a minimum of 250 coronary interventional procedures over the 12-month training period. In addition, the fellow will be able to perform a minimum of 100 diagnostic and 50 peripheral arterial procedures. Coronary procedures include balloon angioplasty, stenting, aspiration thrombectomy, rotational atherectomy, distal protection and other interventional devices used in percutaneous coronary interventions. Peripheral procedures include balloon angioplasty, stenting, atherectomy, laser ablation, thrombectomy, and thrombolysis. Procedures are performed in the renal, iliac, femoral, infrapopliteal, aortic, mesenteric, subclavian, brachiocephalic, and carotid circulations. The catheterization laboratory facilities will include state-of-the-art digital flat panel labs with peripheral capabilities. |
