POLICY ON RESIDENT PROGRAM CLOSURE/REDUCTION

If the institution deems it necessary to reduce the capacity of or close a training program, residents will be notified in writing of this plan as soon as possible. Whenever possible Bridgeport Hospital will make every effort to allow residents currently enrolled in the training program to complete their training at Bridgeport Hospital. Where the program will not continue or when the residents are unwilling to complete said training program at Bridgeport Hospital the institution will assist in identifying and transferring the resident to other similar training programs where they may be able to continue their training.
