A regional open-heart cardiac center that has pioneered procedures such as balloon angioplasty and coronary laser angioplasty. It is also a key participant in national research on life-saving cardiac medications and technology. The hospital is home to New England's first Chest Pain Center and first "swing" catheterization laboratories, and Fairfield County's first Electrophysiology Laboratory.

As part of the Women's Care Center, the Birthplace is a modern birthing center with comfortable private birthing rooms, a large triage suite, modern operating rooms and outfitted with the latest in monitoring technology. Bridgeport Hospital is a regional referral center for high risk obstetrics. Programs include perinatology, consultations, prenatal diagnosis, genetic counseling, fetal assessments, diabetes in pregnancy care and obstetric anesthesiologists available 24 hours a day. The Yale IFV (in vitro fertilization) program at Bridgeport Hospital is the county's only Yale University affiliated program.
- The Newborn Intensive Care Unit

A 20-bed unit that is the sole tertiary level newborn nursery in Fairfield County and the referral center for Southern Connecticut.
- 18-Bed Pediatric Unit

The area's only dedicated Pediatric Unit. A four-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit—the only one in the county—provides comprehensive intensive care under the direction of a full-time critical care specialist. The unit has a 23-hour Pediatric Observation Program. The hospital also offers the first Pediatric Asthma Center in Connecticut.

Featuring a computer-equipped library and conference room to research the latest information on cancer and its treatment; outpatient chemotherapy and transfusion services, and three homelike hospice suites.
- The Burn Center

Connecticut's only burn center with dedicated beds for adult and child burn patients. Many patients are transferred to this regional referral center by Connecticut's Lifestar medical helicopter.
- The Hill-Jennings Ambulatory Care Center
- featuring SurgEase, the one-day surgery center. Procedures here include stereotactic and laparoscopic surgery (the state's first laparoscopic cholecystectomy was performed at Bridgeport Hospital), orthopedic, urologic, plastic, gynecologic, ophthalmologic, and otolaryngologic surgery.

which cares for about 50,000 patients per year, using on-call teams for cardiac, trauma, and burn victims. EmergEase accommodates less acute patients in a more convenient setting. The Lifestar helicopter lands on-site.

Bridgeport Hospital's Trauma Center has a 24-hour Trauma Team, backed by the support of comprehensive resources, procedures, and technology throughout the hospital to care for the most critically injured patients.

In addition to advanced technical facilities, Bridgeport Hospital has a full range of programs to enhance the heath and well-being of the community. Community services include a lead-safe house, support groups and/or education programs for patients and families affected by cancer, diabetes, heart disease, pediatric asthma, teen pregnancy, chronic pulmonary disease, ostomy, trauma, stroke, TBI, and burns. Health screenings offered at the hospital and at several community sites include blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, vision, hearing, and education programs such as CPR and Heimlich instruction.
