Reeves Memorial Health Sciences Library
Description: Description The Reeves Memorial Health Sciences Library is located in the Medical Education wing on the fourth floor of Podium, West Tower 4. It is on the same corridor as the House Staff lounge and the office of the Director of Medical Education.
The Library collection offers electronic resources including Ovid's Medline and CINAHL, UpToDate, electronic journals, e-books and clinical practice guidelines. All electronic resources are available off-site for ease of use (http://gme.cchange.com/library/default.aspx). The Library also houses over 2500 books and approximately 400 current journals. A collection of audiotapes and videotapes are available for loan or viewing in the Media Room of the Learning Resource Center, located across from the Library.
Hours: The Library is accessible 24 hours a day by using the hospital I.D. badge on the scanner located outside the door and is staffed five days a week from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Staff: Library Staff consists of the Chief of the Library, a Clinical Librarian, Library Assistant, Electronic Applications Specialist, Software Applications Training Specialist and Multimedia Specialist.
Staff are available to assist with locating material within the collection. Any item not held in the Library collection can be obtained through computerized interlibrary loan via the National Library of Medicine's Docline software. The Clinical Librarian is also available to train on all electronic medical products, and provide searchers and articles for Grand Rounds and Morning Reports.
Library Committee: The Library Committee oversees the educational function of the department. A Resident representative is appointed annually to this committee.
